KJ Beat is a program for children aged 4-6 years of age. It focuses on an all-round music education.
Students will play varied percussion, piano, guitar and xylophone and will use IPADS and computers to complete interactive music activities. They will develop skills in Pitch, Rhythm, Beat, Dynamics as well as Music Signs and Terms.
This program is centred around ‘play.’ It is perfect if your child has shown an interest in music but you are unsure of which instrument to start them on, or students that need support with social and personal development. This program can also help support music or occupational therapy programs.
Playing music requires global processing within the brain. Recent studies conducted by Nina Kraus, Director of Auditory Neuroscience Laboratory at Northwestern University found that
“To learn to read, you need to have good working memory, the ability to disambiguate speech sounds, make sound-to-meaning connections. Each one of these things really seems to be strengthened with active engagement in playing a musical instrument.”
All KJ Beat lessons are one-on-one and each student has a specifically designed program which focuses on the individual needs and goals of each student.
This is a fun and flexible program while still ensuring a solid foundation of music fundamentals. It is perfect for building co-ordination and fine motor skills.
Music doesn't lie. If there is something to be changed in this world, then it can only happen through music. - Jimi Hendrix
